The TAP 3-Step Programme to Quality-Assured L&D

TAP's Queen's Award-winning 3-Step Programme...

During The Training Foundation's first 18 years we have been continuously evolving the TAP Programme, the aim being to offer Heads of L&D an end-to-end approach to quality-assuring their service provision. The TAP 3-Step model is the culmination of much research, consultation and development and has uniquely been recognised by two Queen's Awards for Enterprise: Innovation, in 2005 and 2016.

The TAP 3-Step programme focuses attention on 3 key questions...

  1. How does your organisation develop its L&D professionals in the wide range of skills needed to perform effectively in their roles?

  2. How does your organisation objectively quality control the design, delivery and transfer of learning?

  3. What learning transfer process does your organisation use to ensure that learning leads to improvements in individual performance and organisational productivity?

The 3-Steps booklet (side bar) explains the approach. Included is a diagnostic exercise, available to download here, to enable self-assessment of how your L&D function is currently matching up to the model. The 3-Steps graphic illustrates the potential impact of this integrated approach to workplace performance: it can double or treble the exent to which training is actually applied.
