TAP Recertification for Design and Evaluation

The Recertification Service provides an opportunity for designers to undergo regular reassessment against the TAP Learning Design criteria for quality management purposes. We recommend recertification for designers whose TAP Certificate in Design and Evaluation was issued three or more years ago and who are without access to an Internal Certified TAP Design Assessor.

This approach to quality assurance was uniquely recognised by TAP's second Queen’s Award for Innovation, awarded for ‘innovation in the Quality Assurance of Learning & Development’, and is a vital step towards professionalising training design.

Recertification of Design & Evaluation skills every three years ensures currency with new learning techniques and technologies and ensures that TAP Training Design Standards continue to be embedded within learning solutions. Every three years candidates submit a design that will be assessed against the TAP methodology.

In addition to designer recertification, if there is no access to an Internal Certified TAP Design Assessor then individual designs may be externally quality assured through the BILD Learning Design Accreditation Service .
