In this issue we announce exciting new developments on the HE Professional Certificates that were confirmed by The University of Chester only yesterday, read the article below for more details. You will be aware of the recent announcement of the Foundation Degree in L&D Practice, delivered by TTF and awarded by Chester University. Whilst the HE degree uniquely gives all L&D professionals an opportunity to achieve HE recognition of their professional skills, it is nevertheless quite a lot to bite off in one go! Many Talking TAP Newsletter readers have enquired as to whether the University would accredit their TAP qualifications as milestones towards the Degree and, after some intensive discussions, we have reached agreement with Chester that a range of HE Professional Certificates and a Certificate in Higher Education will now be available to TAP professionals. There will be four Professional Certificates and a Certificate in Higher Education. In essence, the Professional Certificates are aligned with the four TAP Diplomas: TAP Diploma in Learning Facilitation TAP Diploma in Learning Design TAP Diploma in e-Learning TAP Diploma in L&D Consultancy Each one carries 60 transferable HE credits towards a Certificate in Higher Education (120 credits) or the Foundation Degree (240 credits). Certificates will be awarded to successful candidates by Chester University at a prestigious Awards ceremony. They will be signed by the University Chancellor (the Duke of Westminster) and the Vice-Chancellor, Timothy Wheeler. STARTER OFFER! The University and ourselves are keen to get the Professional Certificate programme off to a flying start; we can therefore make you a subsidised, one-time offer! If you have two or more TAP Certificates in a TAP Diploma track (eg Training Delivery and any one of; Coaching, Facilitation or Learner engagement OR alternatively; Training Design and TNA) you can enrol for a Professional Certificate and TAP Diploma at £1,800 plus vat. The fee covers the cost of attending the two remaining TAP courses and the cost of the HE Professional Certificate (the normal cost for this is approximately £3,200). Note that, under the HE rules, you would need to submit a 2,000 word paper for each of the two remaining courses). If your Company has spare days available on a TAP Season Ticket, you can allocate 6 days from the balance for each trainer’s participation; call us to discuss that further. By the way, if you already have more than two TAP Certificates, or even perhaps a full TAP Diploma, and wish to add an HE Professional Certificate, then give me a call to discuss how that can be achieved!
