TAP Qualifications

trainers involved in the classroom, coaching, elearning and support

TAP is aligned to both International & National Occupational Standards

The TAP programme is maintained in close alignment with the current Standards published by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (ibstpi) and the UK's National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Learning & Development (L&D).

The UK's NOS standards were first developed by the TDLB (Training & Development Lead Body) and then maintained by ENTO (Employers' National Training Organisation). These are the UK's current NOS Standards for L&D.

In 2006 the NOS L&D Standards became the responsibility of LLUK (the Lifelong Learning Sector Skills Council). Currently, LLUK are at Consultation stage of a review of these Standards. The Training Foundation is a member of LLUK's Standards Review Board.

As and when the NOS Standards are updated by LLUK the TAP programme will be adjusted to reflect this.

It should be noted that LLUK have published NOS Standards for those preparing to teach in the FE sector and these Standards underpin the PTLLS qualification (Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector). These Standards, and the PTLLS course, have limited relevance to the multiplicity of skills required by today's L&D Professional. For these, the current review of the NOS L&D Standards will be most relevant.
