Show the planned objectives before you ask for learners’ expectations and be honest at this point as to whether these personal objectives will be met by the course. Rephrase negative expectations (eg. I want to ‘reduce my fear of speaking in front a group’) so they are positive (eg. ‘so you want to increase your confidence ….’)
