Assessing Training Delivery Skills


Introduction

The TAP Assessor Programme for TAP Partrners is unique. It is potentially the most powerful service available to you from The Training Foundation because it empowers quality assurance of the learning and development function as well as performance review and development of your trainers to consistent best-practice standards. Whilst most trainers are subject to regular assessment of their product knowledge, many are not regularly assessed for their training delivery skills in the classroom.

In general, there is a need to raise the bar in terms of the effectiveness of the classroom learning experience, and to assess skills transfer abilities. We strongly encourage all of our clients to participate in this essential part of the TAP Skills Programme by becoming a TAP Partner .

Benefits

Regular workplace assessment of trainers is extremely beneficial. It enables objective identification of development needs, contributes to performance development reviews and is an essential part of any training quality assurance programme.

Delegates will be able to assess potential new trainers as part of the recruitment process, internal trainers as part of the performance management process and external trainers as part of the management of outsourcing projects.

Also, as part of their internal staff development procedures, Assessors can re-assess trainers whose TAP Certificate in Training Delivery Skills is more than a year old, and apply to us for re-issue (admin fee £25).
