Diploma Fast-track for CTP holders

Introduction

The TAP® Diploma in Learning and Development - Fast-track (Level 5) is designed for trainers who already have a Certificate in Training Practice (Level 3). It has been developed to meet two needs.

First, many training professionals who undertook their initial certification some years ago may have had little opportunity to develop their skills in a formal way since – or indeed to confirm their skills against best-practice models. They would benefit from upgrading their skills to a Level 5-rated qualification – the TAP® Diploma in Learning Facilitation Skills.

Second, many Heads of L&D see a strategic need to raise the function’s profile in their organisations. Establishing benchmark quality standards to ensure consistency of training delivered to all staff – however sourced – would contribute greatly towards this. TAP®, founded on best-practice assessable models (for which The Training Foundation was awarded a Queen’s Award for Innovation) is uniquely able to provide such a benchmark.

Of course, new trainers can be enrolled on a TAP® Diploma programme instead of a CTP and more than 1,700 employers do now employ TAP-certified trainers. However, to enable overall consistency, established team members would also benefit by achieving the same standard.

What the programme involves

Each of the three component TAP® short-courses in the Fast-track programme has been designed to specifically address skills which are not consistently assessed in traditional Certificates in Training Practice. By focusing mainly on these areas, the normal Diploma schedule (15 days classroom training) has been reduced to 8 days over three events (3, 3 and 2) which are outlined in the full programme details (link below).

Successful assessment of the delegate’s relevant skills on each course and also a workbased design project leads to award of the TAP® Diploma in Learning Facilitation Skills by the delegate’s nominated Awarding Body.
