TAP Certificate in Performance improvement

Introduction

For many organisations, the current economic climate presents the challenge of maintaining high performance levels at a time when a significant proportion of the workforce may feel disengaged from their job or their employer. Success requires organisations to focus attention on their line managers as the lynchpins of employee engagement and performance improvement. Current management practices are typically task-oriented rather than people-oriented; without this people bias, managers cannot expect to create a climate of high trust, the foundation for delivering increased performance through engaged people. This course is an essential component of the TAP Diploma in Performance Management.

Benefits

Throughout this 3 day course, delegates will have an opportunity to reflect on their current behaviours by undertaking a series of skills-based exercises and activities. Each exercise is designed to help delegates build an understanding of the skills required to increase performance through employee engagement and how engagement directly correlates to the six Core Principles of CHOICE®. Opportunities for feedback from the course facilitator and peer group are provided.

The final course exercise will enable delegates to put all elements of the course into practice through a real life business scenario. The skills gained will include problem solving through brain storming and effective communication, getting to know and understand their people as well as creating a climate of high trust. Ultimately, all elements will allow delegates to review, and adjust if needed, their management practice towards that of a people-oriented manager.
