The IT Training Team was initially established in 2001 to provide IT training courses and support for social care staff.  The Team now provides full training solutions and performance support to a wider audience within Somerset County Council, including ECDL provision. 

The Trainer Assessment Programme offers us an ideal way to ensure that the whole team uses the best training techniques.  Our approach has always focussed on exploiting the relevance of the learning to the workplace and the TAP methodology enables us to build upon that.  We are committed to the TAP programme and the IT Training Officer is qualified to assess trainers to the TAP Delivery Skills standards as part of our quality assurance procedures.
