The Health Informatics Service (THIS) is a well established, mature IM&T provider employing more than 230 members of staff to 14 separate organisations across a wide geographical area.

The Health Informatics Service also works in close collaboration with Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield Local Authorities to provide seamless IT support for various areas of joint working across health and social care.

There are 23,500 users of the services provided by The Health Informatics Service with 11,500 devices attached to the supported Community of Interest Network (COIN).

With an annual budget of £10m, The Health Informatics Service is the largest shared service in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

THIS is keen to work with other public sector organisations to drive a business focus which will achieve sustainability, financial balance and high quality patient/citizen care. There are many challenges ahead. THIS has spent the last few years aligning its services to the best that it has seen within the commercial sector. It has adapted its leadership, built upon its talent and pushed its entrepreneurial flair across the public sector.
