With more tha 33,000 students and 7,500 staff and an international reputation for the excellence and breadth of its teaching and research, the University of Leeds is one of the UK's largest and most successful universities.

Tim Hunnybun and his team - part of the Information Systems Services department  - have clocked up more than a hundred years of IT training experience between them at the university. The courses they deliver in-house and via outsourced training specialists range from MS Office, web authoring, statistics and digital imaging to introductory courses to corporate systems and induction courses for all new undergraduates.

It is a busy role - and getting busier - which is why quality assurance has become an increasingly pressing issue.

"My key priorities are to ensure that we're providing the courses that staff and students need and that they are delivered to the highest standards," explains Tim. He could see that the TAP Certificate in Training Delivery Skills, with its focus on skills transfer techniques rather than simply presentation skills, would provide the quality control solution he was seeking.
